Food

We are trying to encourage the Scouts to cook their own meals on overnight camps so they are prepared for when they do Bushcraft/Gwentrex etc. They will be cooking using small gas stoves so they need food that is easy to cook and is not going to give them food poisoning if under cooked .We also do not have any refrigeration available on camp. Please can you get your Scout to practice opening tins and make sure they bring a tin opener with them or if they have difficulties please put the food in plastic containers.

Here are a few ideas but if you have any other then please let us know as we are always looking for suggestions. Small sauce, salt and pepper sachets are great to bring along as well as travel sized anti bacterial gel and washing up liquid. It is also useful if they pre weigh pasta/rice etc. before they come.
