Usk Rocks… District Scout competition with 300 Scouts. To navigate without leaders on their own over a 15 mile course on Saturday and a 10 mile on Sunday. Work out their times between bases and get there without getting lost.
There were two levels; Gwentrek plus for the Scouts and the longer Gwentrek Extreme for the Explorers. Usk were winners of both levels…major achievement for all that took part.
Well done to Usk Scouts.Joint first place with Wyesham Scouts at the District swimming gala. Fantastic effort from all those who took part.
5 very tired but proud Scouts received the top award for Scouts- the Chief Scouts Gold Award which was presented to them just after they had completed the 20km Gwentrek Plus competition.
Our 2 Gwentrek Plus teams came 1st and 2nd.
What a great achievement. Thanks to all the support from the leaders who made sure they had all the right equipment and training so the teams could really enjoy the challenge.
We also had 2 assisted teams who gained some great experience.
Well done Usk Scouts on coming second in the District Bushcraft competition.Great to see our girls taking 2nd place.
